I am a potter and a spinner/weaver.
Clay is fascinating to work with; moulding, impressing into and printing onto it. So much is down to chemistry - how coloured clays change in tone and shade during firing. It is always a suprise to see the finished result.
Weaving is quite the opposite. Blending colour and texture is immediate and the finished item is soft, flexible and wearable. I weave with both Saori and rigid heddle looms.
Each piece is unique. I do very little planning for any of my projects, preferring to work instinctively and embellishing as the piece evolves.
