Jo Clarke studied and worked initially as a graphic designer, later following this with an MA in Textile Design leading to working with natural fibres. Using vegetable tanned leather sourced from UK suppliers, Jo designs and creates leather bags and bowls along with smaller leather works. The leather undergoes a slow tanning process and is considered to be eco-sustainable as it has a low environmental impact.

Jo’s work as a printmaker is a process of development and discovery using mono printing and collage. Abstract interpretation of natural forms and the environment influences the outcome.

Jo’s work is featured in the British Craft Directory and the Crafts Council Directory and is stocked by the Atwin store in Norwich under the brand name of Juniper Calluna.
